2014 Red Knot McLaren Vale Shiraz
Shiraz
"Matured in American and French oak. The bouquet wastes no time in flying the McLaren Vale flag with its plum and dark chocolate aromas, the palate
providing more of the same in handsome amounts. Some winery wizardry at work to provide the wine at this price. 92 pts."

"Medium garnet/purple, the 2014 Red Knot Shiraz has an expressive nose of ripe red and black cherries, baking spices, anise and cloves with a waft of violets. Medium to full-bodied with a good amount of fruit framed by soft and velvety tannins, it finishes with good length."
Lisa Perotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate #220
"All the McLaren Vale regional and varietal aspects fall into place with this smart little wine, made as a special for Dan Murphy's and BWS. it has ripe dark-berried fruit all through, cast in an appealing medium to full-bodied style that sets plenty of solid structure for serious tasting and finishes with robust oomph. You can't pass this up as one of the best red bargains, yet for less than $10 more the Shingleback Reserve is a class act."
Tony Love, The Advertiser, 29th July 2015
" Value for money with a capital V from this budget red made by the Shingleback winery in McLaren Vale. It is made in the easy-drinking, plush, soft dark berry style for which the region is well known. This is ripe, forward and fruit-driven with oak playing very much a support role. There is 6% cabernet in the blend, adding some savoury crunchiness to the overall picture. The perfect partner for red meat dishes, or even sausages and chips."
Winsor Dobbin, The Launceston Sunday Examiner, May 10th 2015
Tasting Note:
Deep red with purple hues. Primary aromas of ripe, sweet strawberry and blackberry are laced with notes of summer roses and hazelnut milk chocolate. Luscious dark berry fruits flow across the palate and are channeled into the long, lingering finish by soft, chewy tannins and a fine minerality.
